WHAT IS A TRADEMARK?

A trademark is a distinctive word, logo, symbol, design, color, sound, or a unique combination of the previous, use to identify the source of the goods and to distinguish them from any other.

WHAT IS A SERVICE MARK?

Used primarily in the USA, a service mark is the same as a trademark, except that it identifies and distinguishes the source of a service rather than a product.
